Motorcyclist dies after crash on A-road

A motorcyclist has died after a crash involving another vehicle on an A-road in Gloucestershire.

Emergency services were called to the A417 near Overton Farm, Maisemore, at about 15:50 BST due to a report of a crash involving a motorbike and a Ford Transit van.

The motorcyclist, a man from Gloucester, sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Gloucestershire Police said his next of kin has been informed.

Road closures which were put into place while the collision investigation took place have since been lifted.

The driver of the van did not sustain any serious injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash has been urged to contact the police.
