Man dies in hospital after roundabout crash

A man who was taken to hospital after a multi-vehicle crash that closed a major road in Chesterfield has died.

Emergency services were called to reports of the crash involving a van and several cars on the A61 at about 07:10 BST on 1 April.

Derbyshire Police said officers made aware on Friday morning that a 45‑year‑old man who was taken to hospital had died and his family were being supported by specialist officers.

The force added a 51-year-old man who was arrested after also being taken to hospital has been released on police bail while inquiries continue.
