Heart seat aims to boost pride in town centre
North Kesteven District CouncilA heart seat will return to a town centre as part of a campaign that asks residents to celebrate what they love about where they live.
The installation will be placed in Market Place in Sleaford by North Kesteven District Council as part of the Love Sleaford initiative.
Residents have been asked to write down their favourite things about the town on a heart tag and attach it to the seat.
The council said the tags can be collected from nearby businesses and the seat would be in place between 4 and 26 February.
North Kesteven District CouncilThe return of the heart seat coincides with Valentines Day on 14 February and National Heart Month, which aims to raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and is marked during February in the UK.
The council will hold a heart health event on 21 February between 10:00 GMT and 14:00 at the Market Place and inside St Denys' Church Hall.
Free blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol testing will be offered at the church, and local sports clubs, gyms and healthy lifestyle services will be offering tips and information on improving heart health.
Activities for children including free rock climbing and a football shoot-out will be on offer at the event.
Tags for the heart seat can be collected at the library, Market Square Cafe and Restaurant, Bellissimo Boutique, The Bairns Play Cafe, Appetites, Bristol Arcade and Empra UK, Riverside.
Council leader Richard Wright said he was looking forward to seeing the "vibrant community display that celebrates what people love about the town".
