Man arrested following fatal crash

A man has been arrested following a fatal crash in East Sussex, police have said.

The incident happened on the B2204 at Catsfield on Friday at about 23:00 GMT.

The driver of a grey Seat Leon, which had left the road, was pronounced dead at the scene, a spokesperson for Sussex Police said.

Two passengers in the vehicle were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of another vehicle, a Skoda Fabia was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and taken into custody, police said.

They added he was later also arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The occupants of the Skoda were uninjured.

Det Sgt Suzy Marten said: "We are investigating the circumstances of the collision which happened eastbound and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage of the incident to come forward."
