Second blaze destroys community hub building
DWFRSA village community centre has been destroyed by fire less than a year after it was damaged by another blaze.
Firefighters were called to Winterborne Kingston Hub, near Bere Regis, Dorset, at 05:25 BST to find the whole building alight.
Crews spent two hours extinguishing the flames but the single-storey structure collapsed.
Last July, the centre suffered extensive smoke and water damage following a small fire which happened just months after it had been refurbished and redecorated.
The Hub - which had three rooms and a kitchen - previously hosted bingo, coffee mornings and pool tournaments, as well offering private hire.
Lower Winterborne Parish Council chairman Ross Jessopp said the facility had not been in use since last summer's fire and repairs had not begun because a village consultation about the best way forward had "only just concluded".
Three crews and a water carrier were called to the incident on Tuesday morning and the road was closed while firefighters tackled the flames.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
