Gorton and Denton by-election candidates' minute manifestoes
Getty ImagesPeople living in the Greater Manchester constituency of Gorton and Denton will soon head to the polls to elect their new MP.
The by-election was triggered by former Labour Andrew Gwynne standing down on medical grounds.
It will be held on Thursday 26 February, with the result expected to be announced in the early hours of Friday morning.
Gwynne won the seat for Labour at the July 2024 general election, securing a majority of more than 13,000, but was suspended from the party in 2025 after reports he had sent offensive WhatsApp messages.
We asked each candidate to send a short video about why they were standing.
