Motorists have been warned of disruption on the northern coast of the Isle of Man while a "very large fallen tree" brought down in a recent storm is removed.

The Ramsey to Laxey Coast Road is set to be shut at Ballure Bridge, near the Manx Electric Railway crossing, on Tuesday.

The Department of Infrastructure said the closure would be from 09:30 GMT until no later than 15:30.

Traffic travelling to Ramsey from the east will be diverted to the A18 Mountain Road.

The department said the tree, which was located on the lower side of the road bridge, was resting against the side of the carriageway's retaining wall, causing damage to the parapet wall.

Repairs to the parapet wall itself would be carried out at a later date, it added.
