A motorcyclist has died in a multi-vehicle crash near Halifax, police have said.

Steven Park, 78, from Brighouse, was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on Brookfoot Lane, Southowram.

West Yorkshire Police were called at about 12:25 GMT.

A 23-year-old woman and two men, aged 35 and 39, who were driving three other vehicles, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remain in custody, the force said.

Det Sgt Nina Roper said: "From our initial inquiries, we do believe several vehicles were involved in an incident on the road just prior to Mr Park coming off his bike, and now have made three arrests.

"I am appealing for anyone who saw an incident there and the behaviour of any other vehicles associated with Mr Park being dismounted to come forwards."
