More crossings cancelled as strong winds continue
BBCStormy conditions led to the cancellation of all ferry services between Douglas and Heysham on Thursday.
The overnight crossing from Lancashire to the Isle of Man has also been called off due to near gale-force winds on the island.
A section of the Sunken Gardens on Douglas Promenade was also damaged by the force of large waves breaking over coastal roads, bringing debris ashore.
Ronaldsway Met Office has also issued an alert for snow, with higher roads including the A18 Mountain Road expected to be affected. That warning remains in place until 09:00 GMT on Friday.
The latest disruption to ferry sailings follows the cancellation of the Wednesday evening crossing of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's flagship vessel and its overnight return due to choppy conditions in the Irish Sea.
MANX RADIOThe island's coastline has been battered by waves for several days, with a further warning of disruption in place until 16:00 GMT on Friday.
Forecasters said Douglas, Laxey and Ramsey promenades, the western part of Shore Road in Rushen, and Derbyhaven were again due to be affected, with Castletown Promenade at risk to a lesser extent.
As a result of the ongoing conditions, Douglas Council announced the temporary closure of the Bottleneck Car Park on Loch Promenade.
