Man charged with murder after mother-of-two dies
Family HandoutA man has been charged with murder after a mother-of-two died following an assault.
Helen Bird, 47, suffered serious injuries inside a property on High Street, Chelveston, Northamptonshire, on 2 February, and died eight days later, Northamptonshire Police said.
James Bird, also of High Street, Chelveston, who was charged on Tuesday with attempted murder, has now been charged with murder.
The 50-year-old will appear at Northampton Magistrates' Court on 10 March.
Helen's family previously said, in a statement released through the force, that she was "a deeply loved daughter, devoted mother-of-two, sister and friend".
Det Insp Matt Bly, of Northamptonshire Police added: "Our thoughts are with everyone who loved Helen at this very distressing time and specially trained officers are supporting her family."
