A woman has died in hospital after she was found following an air, sea and land search in southern Scotland.

Nancy Hill, 81, from Kirkcudbright, was reported missing on Monday night after her silver Citroen Picasso was discovered in the car park at Dhoon beach.

Police Scotland confirmed Hill was located on Tuesday and taken to Dumfries and Galloway hospital, where she later died.

A force spokesperson said her family were aware.
