Police have appealed for witnesses after a man was taken to hospital following an assault in Derby.

Derbyshire Police said the assault took place in Abbey Street at about 20:20 BST on Tuesday.

The force said the victim - a man in his 30s - was taken to hospital after being assaulted by another man.

Police said on Tuesday that a scene was in place while investigations were carried out.

Officers said they were keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident as well as anyone who was driving and has dashcam footage.
