Tribute to man who died in pub on Christmas Eve

Tributes have been paid to a man who died following an incident on Christmas Eve.

Steven Shevels, 61, from Crook was found unconscious inside The Queen's Head pub, in Willington, at about 16:45 GMT and later pronounced dead at the scene.

In a statement, his family said: "We are heartbroken to announce the tragic death of Steven, who was taken from us far too soon."

Martin Greensmith, 36, from Crook, has been charged with manslaughter and released on conditional bail. He will appear at Durham Crown Court on 27 January.
