Man in his 70s dies in industrial incident on farm

A man in his 70s died in an industrial incident on a farm, police said.

Suffolk Police were called at just before 17:00 GMT on Monday to reports of an incident at a farm in Great Barton.

The incident involved a man falling into a grain silo, the BBC understands.

Ambulances, including an air ambulance, and fire service crews also attended but the man died at the scene, the force said.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called just after 16:50 GMT on Monday, 2 March to reports of an industrial incident at a farm in Great Barton.

"We sent numerous resources, including the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, and worked alongside police and fire and rescue service colleagues.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical team, an adult man died at the scene."

Officers are investigating alongside the Health and Safety Executive.

The force said a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
