Driver dies after crashing into tree

A driver in his 60s has died after his car crashed into a tree, a police force has said.

It happened on the A602 in Stevenage, at about 12:40 GMT on Monday, according to Hertfordshire Police.

The force said the man had been driving a white Tesla Model 3 from Stevenage to Watton at Stone when the collision took place.

The man was the only person in the car, and died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

Police have appealed for anyone with information, including dashcam footage, to come forward.
