A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 37-year-old man died following an incident outside a Wetherspoon's pub in south Wales.

Gwent Police officers were called to The Picture House in Bethcar Street, Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent, between 23:30 GMT on Friday and 00:15 on Saturday following reports of an assault.

The victim, from Tredegar, was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition, but later died.

The 30-year-old suspect, from Cardiff, initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has now been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody and officers are appealing for witnesses.
