Funeral for 'beloved boys' who died in taxi crash
HandoutThe families of two teenagers who died after a car crash have paid tribute to their "beloved boys".
Jenson Seal and Jake Neaves were laid to rest on Monday after their deaths following a crash on 20 December.
The Tesla taxi they were passengers in crashed into a tree on Holland Road in Oxted, Surrey shortly before 22:00 GMT, according to Surrey Police.
Family of Seal and Neaves said in a statement they wanted to "express our deepest gratitude to our friends, family, and the entire local community for their unwavering love, support and strength during this incredibly painful time".
The families said they were "heartbroken and devastated, knowing our beloved boys made the right choice by travelling home in a taxi".
They said the kindness of the community had "carried us when we could not carry ourselves".
A football academy previously paid tribute to Neaves, a former player, as a "fantastic teammate and student with a wand of a left foot and a warm and bubbly personality that lifted everyone around him".
A third teenager who was seriously injured in the crash has since been discharged from hospital, the BBC understands.
A collection for road safety charity Brake has raised more than £22,000.
The 30-year-old taxi driver from Oxted was arrested, and later bailed, on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
