Plans submitted to create family space in church
GoogleA new family space could be created inside a church to encourage more children and young people to take part in church activities.
St Ouen's church in Jersey wants to install oak-framed screens to close off the north and south aisles from the chancel.
The church said the panels would create an enclosed space in the church for family activities.
The planning application has been submitted to the States for approval, pending review.
The church said that it was seeing a rising number of children and young people attending, and had looked at alternative ways to create a family space, including a barn or marquee on nearby land, but found they were not suitable.
According to the application, the total cost will be funded by members of the parish church.
