Fighting with weapons after early-hours car crash

Two men have been taken to hospital after a car crash that was followed by fighting with weapons.

The crash involving two cars, and the subsequent brawl, took place near the junction of Sewall Highway and Ansty Road in Coventry at about 03:55 GMT.

The injuries to the men were not believed to be life-threatening, West Midlands Police said.

The force added it was in the early stages of an investigation "to establish exactly what has happened and who was involved".

Police said they understood one of the vehicles involved was a white Kia Sorento which sustained damage before making off.

Officers were working to try to locate the car, a spokesperson said.
