A man has been taken to hospital with stab wounds after two men tried to steal an electric motorbike in a Derby suburb.

Police said the incident took place while a man and a friend fixed the broken vehicle in a car park off Athol Close in Sinfin, shortly before 16:00 BST on Wednesday.

A 21-year-old suffered a stab wound in his upper arm during the attempted robbery and has received treatment for serious but not life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

Derbyshire Police are looking for two male suspects who left the scene onto Athol Close, before continuing across Grampian Way.

One is described as black, wearing all black and riding an electric scooter, while the other was riding a pushbike and carrying a black backpack.
