Plans put forward to expand village
MarronsA developer has applied to build 155 homes in a Shropshire village but faces opposition from people living nearby.
Boningale Homes has asked for outline permission to build on land off Perryfield Road in Prescott, near Baschurch.
The proposal includes land set aside for a new GP surgery and a park.
But people who live in nearby Yeaton have raised concerns about the number of vehicles using the lane from Prescott roundabout, with a recent survey showing that about 6,000 vehicles go through the village on an average week.
Through its agent, Boningale Developments has promised "a landscape-led approach that will foster a distinctive and biodiverse place for wildlife and people to enjoy".
The company also said the new homes would feel "well integrated with the existing community of Baschurch".
A statement on behalf of Yeaton residents said they feared the development would "increase traffic through Yeaton to intolerable levels".
