Watch: Amazon van stuck in water trying to deliver package
An Amazon delivery van was spotted in water near Southend.
Coastguards said the driver had followed a GPS route while attempting to deliver a package to Foulness Island on Saturday.
He has travelled along the Broomway, a mudflats pathway, which is home to a Ministry of Defence firing range.
However, the route is not for vehicles, and people are advised to only walk there accompanied by a guide. According to parish council records, 100 people have died on the stretch, with the last known death in 1919.
The delivery driver managed to leave the vehicle and return to land, coastguards said.
Amazon said it was "aware" of the situation and was "investigating".
