Toy Story 5: What is the new movie all about?

A new Toy Story 5 trailer has just been revealed.

That's right, Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the gang are back for the fifth time in a new Disney Pixar movie.

It's been almost 30 years since the first Toy Story movie came out in the UK, and now the fifth movie is set for release in June 2026.

But what is the new movie about, and how does it follow on from the fourth movie? We've been taking a look...

From the new full-length trailer we see Bonnie - the little girl who Andy gifted his Toys to at the end of the third movie - playing with some of the toys from the previous movies, including Rex, Forky, Mr Pricklepants, Buzz, Jessie and Bullseye.

Then she can be seen opening up a package, which contains a tablet-like toy called Lilypad, that comes to life as she opens it.

The trailer then shows Bonnie spending a lot of time on the tablet and not playing with the toys anymore.

This causes Jessie to worry and contact Woody, who in the fourth movie decided to venture out into the world to help Bo-Peep rescue lost toys.

After that, the trailer shows Woody returning and the toys working together to come up with a plan to take on Lilypad.

So it seems like the story in Toy Story 5 will focus on Bonnie's relationship with traditional and digital toys, as well as the struggles of making friends.
