| | This year marks the third Down to Earth art exhibition, which once again will be held at Salthouse Church near Holt.
All 45 of the contemporary artists, painters, sculptors, textile artists and ceramists exhibiting either live or work in Norfolk.
Last year around 5,000 visitors came through the doors and the organisers are hoping to continue to be as popular.
This year the theme is Light and Space and all the are making original work to fill chosen spaces in the light-filled, magnificent Norman Church.
From last year's show: Honesty Dress |
The curator, sculptor Andrew Schumann of King's Lynn, made his choice of artists on the basis of their proposals and then visits to the church. Schumann said: "I have been almost overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and dedication shown by such a large group of professional artists. It's going to be a very major show."
 Novelist:Louis de Bernieres |
Organiser Yvonne Millwood has high hopes for the event:
"The exhibition will be stunning, I'm sure. "But the arts workshops and events in support of the exhibition - such as the evening at which famous novelist, Louis de Bernieres will read his latest story, poetry and makes music with a trio, extends what is available in North Norfolk to a wider audience."
 Artist, Mike Toll |
Artist, Mike Toll also exhibited his work at the first Down to Earth exhibition.
His creation is a light, sound, visual and dancer event. "I exhibited at the first exhibition and it was once of the most satisfactory of my career. The buzz during the whole month was a major stimulation," said Mike.
