Friday 12 March 11.30am National Science Week in Norfolk Libraries is launched with an exciting and fun chemistry demonstration to local school children.
Saturday 13 March 10am - 4pm Science activities for the family in the Forum.
Sunday 14 March 10.30am - 4.30pm Craft activities in the children's library. Come and create a paper garden. Make your favourite flowers, birds or creepy crawlies and have them displayed in their 'garden'.
Tuesday 16 March 9am - 3pm Our world - day of nature and science for children aged 7 - 11 years. Local schools will take part in a day of displays and activities organised by local organisations, including the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, the Sea Life Centre at Great Yarmouth and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. SoundWorks, the exhibition for schools will be there, courtesy of the Norfolk Exchange. Everyone is welcome. Wednesday 17 March 2-2.30pm Tiny Tots - you and your world, stories and songs for the under 2's Thursday 18 March 10am - 3pm Soil sampling at the library. Gardeners get your garden soil pH tested by the experts from Sprowston High School. Just bring in a small sample of dried soil and the students will do the rest. Friday 19 March 10.30am A science special Bear Club story time for pre-school age children. Saturday 20 March 10am - 4pm Science activities for the family in the Forum. Also in the library: National Wildlife Trust The Trust are going to be there with their hi-tech trailer with fascinating natural objects to look at and loads to learn from the computer. There will be activity sheets, a quiz and wacky wildlife facts. Sea Life Centre at Great Yarmouth They will bring live sharks eggs i.e. mermaid's purses in a tank and hands-on activities for the children. Work from the sharks project that children from Easton Primary School did with the Sea Life Centre will be on display in the children's library during the week. RSPB They will be dissecting owl pellets with small groups of school children. The SoundWorks exhibition, with hands-on activities will be in the library, courtesy of the Norfolk Exchange. |
