Radio Artist Frank Halliday's beach scene formed the basis of each watercolour entry. |
The winners of this year's Art On The Radio competition have been announced. Judges, artist Frank Halliday and Jock Clarke from Jarrolds art department, picked the three winners live on BBC Radio Norfolk on Friday, July 5. Each entrant had to submit a watercolour of a beach scene, sketched by Frank. The winning watercolour by Maynard Coggin |
The first winner was Maynard Coggin, from Sheringham, Shirley Tilley, from North Walsham, came second and David King, from Taverham, came third. Maynard wins a Windsor and Newton deluxe studio painting set, Shirley receives a wooden box set, while David gets a 24-colour pan painting set. All the prizes were donated by Jarrolds. The standard of the pieces was very high and the judges found it hard to narrow down their choices - so they decided to commend a further five paintings. Well done to JG Wood of Hellesdon, Barbara Powley from Gressenhall, Mrs JP Cross of Mulbarton, Sally Cushing from Norwich and Henry Prince of Attleborough. See the gallery of winning entries>> |
