September 2002 Festival takes inspiration from Goose Fair | |
| | | Pint of real ale |
| | This year you'll be able to enjoy the Carousel, the Tunnel of Love and Wall of Death without taking your feet off the ground.
These are just some of the new local brews at the Nottingham Beer Festival. |
 | | | The biggest bar in town opens its doors to the public on Thursday, 17th October at the Victoria Leisure Centre, Sneinton. They will remain open until Sunday, 20th October.
There will be over 300 real ales, ciders and country wines.
This year, for the first time ever there will be a number of beers in the free trade three weeks prior to the event in the form of the Goose Fair collection.
These beers are to be brewed especially for the Goose Fair by local brewers, all of which will be on sale at the festival at our Goose Fair bar.
Richard Studeny, Chairman of Nottingham CAMRA said:
"Nottingham CAMRA has always had an annual beer festival and Goose Fair in autumn… so I thought we would link the two together.”
The Goose Fair collection include: Alcazar – Carousel Belvoir – Twister Brewster's – Tunnel of Love Broadstone – Wall of Death Castle Rock – Bouncy Castle Caythorpe – Old Organ Holland – Waltzer Mallard – Hook a Duck Maypole – Ghost Train Nottingham Brewery – Big Real Ale Springhead – Dodgem
There will around 160 volunteers working in the two halls capable of holding more than 1400 people.
During the evening sessions entertainment will be provided by two bands aptly named The Beer Monsters and Coming Home High.
