Every autumn there's a queue at Nottingham University that runs for miles ... it's for tickets to the International Students Bureau's ball.

Last year the tickets sold out in a couple of hours. As you can see from the photos, the event is a spectacular display of colour, dance and exuberance.

It doesn't cost much to join, only £1. The University of Nottingham has about 3,000 international students from more than 100 countries.
