Ireland's Prime Minister Bertie Ahern will answer questions on the European Union in a special edition of the multimedia programme, Talking Point, to be broadcast on BBC World Service on Sunday (25 April 2004).
His country currently holds the presidency of the European Union.
On 1 May ten new countries will join the European Union. A draft constitution was drawn up last year but so far European Union leaders have failed to agree on the details.
What does Bertie Ahern hope to achieve at this crucial time before the end of his EU presidency in June?
Can the EU become a cohesive political force? Will there be agreement over the draft constitution? And with most EU countries imposing restrictions on migrants from new member states, what effect will expansion have?
The Irish prime Minister will face these and other questions in the global phone-in programme which will be presented by Roger Hearing.
Talking Point will be broadcast at 2.06pm (UK time) on BBC World Service on Sunday.
