A young boy is grievously injured in a cycling accident.

His parents face the terrible decision of whether to leave him on a life-support machine indefinitely - or to switch it off?

Ex-Durham miner Joe and a University philosopher Hermione are an unlikely duo who, together, bring human compassion and philosophy to bear in facing up to some of life's hardest dilemmas.

Starring Alun Armstrong and Deborah Findlay.
