The trail has gone cold, but could a new murder 12 years later provide fresh leads? Lucy Worsley’s hunt for a Victorian serial killer ends with a convincing prime suspect.

The trail has gone cold when, 12 years after the last murder, a fifth dismembered corpse is discovered. On 8 June 1902, two men spot a bundle in Salamanca Place, Lambeth, not far from the Thames. It contains the dismembered body of a woman, and for the first time so far, the woman’s head.

This new murder could contain a fresh lead, and the hunt for a Victorian serial killer ends with a convincing prime suspect.
