Redemptive love is Sarah Mohr-Pietsch's destination with Schoenberg's late romantic, heartfelt work. Taking in the turbulence of fin-de-siecle Vienna and the emotional pull of a descending melodic line, there are excursions into the emotional landscapes of JS Bach, Wagner and Dolly Parton. En route, Sarah also stops for Tchaikovsky's music for string sextet, and the bond of lifelong friendship with a song by Alma Mahler.
