Beethoven's Serioso Quartet from Birmingham

Mark Forrest introduces an afternoon of concert recordings including music from this week's featured orchestra, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. It has been exploring the music of the early 19th century English composer Cipriano Potter. Featuring a set of orchestral variations from him based on the famous La Folia theme.

Also in today's progamme, the Violin Concerto by Benjamin Britten with the orchestra and soloist Simone Lamsma, plus Beethoven chamber music from BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists the Kleio Quartet, from the group's recent concert at the University of Birmingham.
