Jennifer Lucy Allan presents a typically ‘Late Junction’ look at the accordion, with tracks old and new showcasing the instrument’s distinctive tones and fragile folds. From the deep listening and extended techniques of Pauline Oliveros to the digital manipulation and contemporary experimentation of Brussels-based Suzan Peeters, we trace the instrument from its humble folk roots to the edge of its eccentric possibilities, and back again.

Elsewhere in the show, a raft of new releases including Enno Velthuy’s dreamy and melancholic Music From the Other Side of the Fence as well as a maximalist tour de force in sonic bludgeoning from legendary Rhode Island duo Lightning Bolt - a triumphant return to form!
