Sharon D. Clarke is the Rewind Selector!

Feel-good tunes to make you groove! Award-winning actress and singer Sharon D Clarke chooses the tracks that take her back to the dance floors of her youth in Rewind Selector.

Feel-good favourites, hidden gems and fresh tunes to make you groove. DJ Spoony serves up a brilliant selection of soulful house, classic soul, disco, RnB, UK Garage, Reggae, hip hop, doo-wop, funk, dance remixes, and much more.

The incomparable Sharon D Clarke takes us back to the dance floors of her youth in Rewind Selector. As a vocalist in the late 80s and early 90s, she achieved chart success with the FPI Project’s remake of “Going Back to My Roots” and as lead vocalist of the dance group Nomad, Sharon had hits such as “(I Wanna Give You) Devotion” and “Just a Groove”, the latter selling more than two million copies worldwide. A three‑time Olivier Award winner, Sharon is acclaimed for her West End performances in The Amen Corner, Caroline, or Change (a role she later reprised on Broadway, earning both Tony and Grammy Award nominations) and Death of a Salesman. Sharon has starred in numerous major West End musicals and originated the roles of Killer Queen in We Will Rock You and Oda Mae Brown in Ghost the Musical. On screen, Sharon has made a lasting impact with roles such as Lola Griffin in Holby City, Grace O’Brien in Doctor Who and Carmel Walker in Mr Loverman. Most recently, in 2024, she took on the groundbreaking lead role of DCI Ellis in the Channel 5 crime drama Ellis, becoming the first Black female lead in a British TV detective series. The second series returned to our screens last week.

Spoony wraps things up with a ‘Midnight Feast’ track. Think big production, lush orchestration, and the best voices in the business!
