Here's to The Dubliners! With Phil Coulter and Ceoladh Sheahan
Mark pays tribute to Irish legends The Dubliners, ahead of a special tour.
The best folk and acoustic music from Britain and beyond.
Mark raises a glass to Ireland's Dubliners, as a special narrative concert heads to the UK.
The Dubliners formed in a Dublin pub in 1962 and went on to define Irish music for many people. They combined musical mastery and extraordinary vocals with effortless attitude, winning fans around the world. Their influence is heard throughout folk music today.
The last surviving Dubliner, John Sheahan, has co-created a new stage show called The Dubliners: Encore. It mixes archive footage and multimedia storytelling with live music performed by a new band.
Imelda May is the narrator, the Dubliners' former producer Phil Coulter is the musical director, and John Sheahan's daughter Ceoladh Sheahan is the show's producer.
Phil and Ceoladh join Mark Radcliffe to discuss the project and celebrate the memory of the mighty Dubliners.
Produced in Salford by Pomona Audio for BBC Radio 2.
