Take time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical music.
We begin tonight's Classical Mixtape with a pair of late Romantic English composers often inspired by folk melodies, Rebecca Clarke and Edward Elgar. We then cross the channel to hear from two prominent French composers, Gabriel Fauré and Claude Debussy. Next, we have a pair of 'Nocturnes', from Edvard Grieg and Fryderyk Chopin. Finally we have two film scores, Philip Glass' String Quartet 'Mishima' and - to close tonight's sequence - the End Title from 'The Shawshank Redemption', by Thomas Newman.
