Chile’s ‘impossible’ Rugby World Cup dream comes true

Chile made history by narrowly defeating the USA 52-51 on aggregate to qualify for the Rugby World Cup for the first time in the country’s history.

Captain Martín Sigren describes representing his country at the Rugby World Cup as a “dream” and how three years ago Chile playing at the World Cup would have been thought of as “impossible”, as would being a professional rugby player.

Sigren discusses the impact Chile’s appearance at the Rugby World Cup will have on the country with Sportsworld’s Lee James and how this will change the culture of rugby within Chile.
