Historic ship's 'thorny' past explored
The team behind the historic SS Great Britain ship in Bristol is undertaking a major project to tell challenging stories with community engagement and participation.
One of those stories is the ship’s 1857 voyage to Mumbai, in India, as a British troop carrier.
It was one of 51 countries the ship visited, and the SS Great Britain Trust says some aspects of the past “have been underexplored because they are thorny and bring up challenging aspects”.
Madeline Frohlich, from the Trust, speaks to BBC Radio Bristol's Anisa Indawala.
