Minneapolis mayor asks for an end to ICE local operations

President Trump has signalled a shifting position on his hugely controversial immigration crackdown.

It is widely reported that the figurehead of the mass deportation drive, Gregory Bovino, who vilified the nurse Alex Pretti after his agents shot him dead on Saturday, is about to be removed from Minneapolis.

The US president has praised Hamas for its role in helping locate the body of the last remaining Israeli hostage held in Gaza.
