What is the future for Greenland?

President Donald Trump insists the US needs Greenland for "national security".

President Donald Trump insists the US needs Greenland for "national security", adding that anything less than American control of the territory is "unacceptable". It comes as US Vice-President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are meeting the Danish and Greenlandic foreign ministers in the White House today. We speak to journalists in the US, Denmark and Greenland for all the reaction.

The US is reducing the number of personnel at its Al-Udeid air base in Qatar, according to the BBC's US partner CBS News, which officials have called a "precautionary measure". This comes after US President Donald Trump said the US would take "very strong action" against Iran if the authorities execute anti-government protesters. Iran says it will retaliate if attacked by the US. We explain more and hear a conversation with Iranians from around the world.
