Anne-Marie, a barmaid, and her fiancé, taxi driver John McLoughlin, had hoped for a big wedding with all the frills – a memorable occasion for all the family. But then Anne-Marie’s mother became seriously ill. Her father, Brian's health was also failing – he had progressive emphysema. Sadly, Anne Marie’s mum eventually died, but before she did, she had a serious talk with her daughter. Anne-Marie came into the Home Truths studio to tell us more.
