It is my Mum actually.
Mum enjoys reading the occasional paperback novel, but sheβs recently confessed to reading the last three or four pages of every book first. If she likes the ending, she will read the book, if not, she discards it - or rather she doesn't buy it. Apparently she has been doing this for years!
When I asked her why she did it Mum said she likes happy endings, and if it's a miserable end, then she won't read it.
