Silvio Berlusconi
Why do Italian women keep voting him in?

The spats between Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and his wife over his numerous incidents of alleged womanising have recently reached a fortissimo. But now it seems, Veronica Lario has had enough. She’s filing for divorce reportedly saying she can no longer bear to be with "a man who mixes with under-age girls". So, if his wife finds his behaviour towards not just herself but other women unacceptable, how do ordinary female Italians regard Berlusconi and why do they keep voting him back into power ? Tobias Jones, author of The Dark Heart of Italy, and Daniela Casseli, Senior Lecturer in English and American Studies at Manchester University discuss.
