Kenyan election attacks28 Dec 2007
Why are women candidates and their supporters being targeted?

Kenya’s elections took place on Thursday 27th December. During the campaign some estimate that 255 women, both candidates and their supporters, have been assaulted, yet no arrests have been made. We hear why women have been targeted and what is being done to tackle the under representation of women in Kenyan politics.

Jane talks to Cathy Majtenyi, correspondent for Voice of America and to Ann Njogu, candidate for Kamakunji constituency in Nairobi.
