Women in Zimbabwe
What's in store for the country's women?

The people of Zimbabwe go to the polls on Saturday. Despite concerns that Robert Mugabe’s party may rig the elections, there’s excitement in the air, with people openly stating that this election will bring about positive change in their lives. Currently the country has an inflation rate at around one hundred and fifty thousand percent and has the lowest life expectancy in the world.

Jane looks at what’s been happening leading up to the elections in Zimbabwe and what’s in store for the country’s women with Christina Lamb, Foreign Affairs Correspondent of the Sunday Times and author of 'House of Stone: The True Story of a Family Divided in War-Torn Zimbabwe' and Dadirai Chikwenga, Public Policy officer for the Zimbabwe Tearfund appeal and research fellow at the Conflict, Security and Development Group at Kings College, London.
