Amani Zain
The reality beneath the veil

The stereotypical view of Muslim women beneath the veil is that they’re conforming or even oppressed. But this is far from the reality for many young Muslim women. Amani Zain, presenter of a new television series Women in Black, joins Jane to talk about her personal insight into the world of Muslim women around the world, along with the writer Fadia Faquir.

Woman in Black begins on BBC 2 on 8th May at 7.30pm

My Name is Salma by Fadia Faqir is published by Black Swan ISBN-10: 055277362X
