Bangladesh Cyclone Revisited22 Feb 2008
Bangladesh Cyclone
What effect is it having on women and children three months on?

It’s now three months since Cyclone Sidr battered parts of Bangladesh. Official statistics state that 3000 people died, but even the Interim Government has admitted that the death toll is likely to be much higher. One hundred days on, those who can afford it are rebuilding homes and businesses. But for others money is hard to come by and the emotional impact is draining.

The BBC’s Siobhann Tighe visits the most affected regions of the country to find out how people are coping. She’s discovers that many children who survived are traumatised and many women are having to support families alone.
