Documentary about Africa’s first elected female President, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

Iron Ladies of Liberia is a captivating documentary which follows Africa’s first female President through her first year in office as she attempts to rebuild a country devastated by civil war, and maintain a fragile peace. The film was directed by the Liberian journalist Siatta Scott Johnson, and is being screened as part of the Human Rights Watch Film Festival. She joins Ritula, along with the writer and academic David Harris to discuss the film and the situation in Liberia.
