Golda Meir has been called the mother of the state of Israel. She emigrated from Kiev via Milwaukee to become one of her country’s founding figures. She became one of the world’s first female leaders and as Prime Minister led her country through the Yom Kippur war. As a new play about her opens in London Jenni discusses her life and legacy. She is joined by Tovah Feldshuh, the actress playing Golda Meir in Golda’s Balcony, and Yossi Mekelberg, Associate Fellow at Chatham House and Programme Director of International Relations at Regent’s College.
